Tully to demand extra after-school supports for children with additional needs

Senator expected to highlight the challenges faced by families in securing appropriate after-school care

Local Sinn Féin Senator Pauline Tully is call on the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality to make a statement on supports for after-school facilities to ensure children with additional needs can fully access services.

The matter has been selected as one of the Commencement Matters by the Cathaoirleach and will be discussed in the Seanad Éireann from 2:00 pm this afternoon.

Senator Tully is expected to highlight the challenges faced by families in securing appropriate after-school care, particularly for children requiring additional supports, and to press for increased resources and inclusion measures.

Under Seanad procedures, she will have five minutes to make her opening statement, outlining the key concerns. This will be followed by a five-minute response from the Minister or a Minister of State.
