Mannok is proud to be lead sponsor and partner of The Anglo-Celt Cavan Community & Sports Awards, which return this month to celebrate the individuals, volunteers, teams and organisations who make an outstanding contribution across Cavan and the wider border region.
Taking place on Thursday, May 21, at the Cavan Crystal Hotel, the awards recognise the people whose dedication, generosity and achievements help strengthen local communities and inspire others through sport, volunteering, leadership and community service.

A key part of this investment is supporting opportunities for young people in the region. Through a series of educational partnerships with local schools and colleges, Mannok aims to help students develop skills, explore career pathways and build confidence for the future.
One example is the company’s partnership with St Patrick’s College Cavan, which led to the creation of a Digital Innovation Hub designed to provide students with blended learning opportunities and greater insight into careers in technology and computer science.
Initiatives like this are helping to address the ongoing challenge of young people leaving rural areas in search of opportunities elsewhere. By investing in local talent and supporting employment within the region, Mannok is helping to create a more sustainable future for both the community and the wider local economy.
Community engagement remains a central part of the company’s ethos, and Mannok continues to support a wide range of local initiatives, charities and development projects throughout the region.
Among these is an ongoing collaboration with the Cavan County Development Board, Cavan County Council and Fermanagh Trust to help develop a new civic and recreational space at Slieve Rushen House.
The project includes the restoration of the historic Victorian property, the development of walking trails and the creation of a cross-border park and visitor centre that will benefit residents and visitors alike. The new 10km walking trail is nearing completion with signage set to be erected in the next couple of weeks and will provide an important recreational asset for the local area.
Mannok is especially proud to support awards that recognise people who make a lasting difference within their communities. Categories such as Volunteer of the Year, Carer of the Year and Community Group of the Year celebrate the often-unsung individuals and organisations whose dedication, compassion and hard work help improve the lives of others every day.
The company also welcomes the inclusion of awards such as Green Project of the Year, which reflects the growing importance of sustainability, environmental responsibility and community-led initiatives that help shape a better future for the region.
Celebrating sport
Sport also plays a vital role in bringing communities together, building pride and encouraging participation across all ages. Mannok is proud to support a broad range of sports throughout the region, including GAA, soccer, rugby, cycling, running, swimming and kayaking, as well as its sponsorship of Cavan Camogie.
The sporting categories within the awards provide an important opportunity to recognise the dedication, teamwork and achievements of local athletes, clubs and volunteers. Awards such as Hall of Fame, Young Sports Star of the Year, Outstanding Achievement of the Year and Team of the Year celebrate not only success on the field, but also the commitment and determination that inspire communities across the region.
