The death has occurred of Patrick (Packie) Mc Cabe, Hillcrest Cottage, Carnalynch, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, formerly Birmingham, England and Tievenanass, Mountain Lodge, Cootehill Co. Cavan. Passed away peacefully Tuesday 19th May 2026, in the loving care of the staff at Fairlawns Nursing Home Bailieborough.
Predeceased by his wife Sheila, his parents John and Katie, brothers Owen, Francis and sister Mary Rose. Deeply regretted by his loving family daughters Mary (Jeff), Margaret and his son John (Jana), his adored grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Katie, Yasmin, Nicole and Alex. Sadly missed by his brothers Tommy, Phil and John, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough Friday evening 22nd May from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Saturday afternoon to St. Patrick's Church, Carrickallen, Mountain Lodge for Funeral Mass at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Eamonn Smith
Cloncovid, Kilcogy, Cavan
Eamonn died peacefully on Wednesday the 20th May 2026 at the General Hospital Mullingar.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Bridget, brothers Padraig and Bernard. Sadly missed by his loving sister Kathleen (Lynch), brothers Thomas and Noel, sisters -in- law Ann and Margaret, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great grand-niece, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran.(N39HN84) Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Teresa Connolly (née Meegan), Monagirr, Culloville PO, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Wednesday 20th May 2026. Predeceased by her husband Vincent, daughter Marie, parents John and Alice Meegan and brothers who died in infancy Bernard, Sean and Thomas. Deeply regretted by her family Sean (Mary), Peter, Eilish, Pat (Deirdre), Vincent (Ruth), Thomas (Irene) and Ciaran (Sarah), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings Sean (Lila), Eilish (Jemmy RIP) and Thomas (Philomena), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Ciaran and Sarah, Monagirr, A75 WR89 on Thursday from 3pm to 9pm. Removal on Friday morning to St. Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne, A81 P978 arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

19th May 2026 peacefully at Foyle Hospice, formerly of Pennyburn, Kildare, Monaghan and Antrim, son of the late William and Teresa, loving brother of Agnes, Anne and the late Molly, brother-in-law of Sean, a much loved uncle and great-uncle. Deeply regretted by all his extended family and friends.
Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday from 8 - 10 pm. Funeral service will take place there on Friday at 1.30 pm. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery.
