Brendan Smith said the funding marks further investment by Government in community led – climate action initiatives.
"Communities across Cavan and Monaghan are delivering practical projects that reduce emissions and indeed improve quality of life. "Successful applications were submitted by different sporting and voluntary organisations and this funding helps clubs in improving amenities and also reducing energy costs. Projects funded by this Programme bring a wide range of benefits for communities including reduced energy costs, improved biodiversity and upgraded local amenities.
"I commend both Cavan and Monaghan County Councils and the local Clubs who submitted very detailed applications to draw down this substantial funding,” said the Fianna Fáil TD.
