FTD Brothers to complete Marathon Challenge Today
The brothers completed the Cavan leg of their 32 county challenge on Wednesday, May 6.
Jordan and Cian Adams, 'The FTD Brothers', are today (Thursday, May 28) completing the final day of their 33 Marathons in 33 Days challenge in Dublin.
The brothers, who grew up in Redditch, England, began the challenge by completing the London Marathon in April, which Jordan ran with a 25kg fridge on his back, and have since completed marathons in each county across Ireland to make dementia visible and raise money for research into the disease.
Their mother Geraldine, who has Irish roots, passed away from frontotemperal dementia (FTD) at 52 years old, and both Jordan (31) and Cian (25) have inherited the gene that means they will almost certainly develop FTD in their forties.
The pair have been met with significant support along their journey, and previously told the Celt that they hope as many people as possible turn up in vibrant colours to honour their mother for their final marathon in the capital city.
"We want the world to stop and listen and show why Ireland is the best country in the world."
