Pedigree rams stolen from Cootehill found in Co Monaghan

Pedigree rams stolen from near Cootehill around a week ago, turned up in Co Monaghan today.

ELEVEN pedigree rams stolen from the Tullyvin area of Cootehill at the end of last week have been recovered in Co Monaghan today.

The four Texal, six Charollais, and 1 Lleyn rams were taken some time between the evening of Thursday, May 28 and the following morning Friday, May 29.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told the 'Celt: "Gardaí responded to reports of a theft in the Cootehill area of Co. Cavan."

The owner of the pedigree animals, Frank Mc Govern from Rathkenny Farm, told Northern Sound radio he located his rams on land at Oram, Co Monaghan today (Thursday).

A garda statement also said: "This investigation is ongoing."
