Focus on growth and future success

Female entrepreneurs from across the county met at the Farnham Estate Hotel Spa & Golf Resort on Wednesday last week (June 10) for the final Cavan Women in Business Network event before the summer break.

With the theme 'Mindset for Growth: Leading Your Business into the Future', the event delivered an evening of inspiration, practical business insights, networking and collaboration, creating a vibrant atmosphere and highlighting the strength of the county’s growing female business community.

Susan Leonard, Business Advisor with Local Enterprise Office Cavan, outlined the benefits of the Lean for Business programme to 60 attendees, encouraging businesses to work smarter, improve efficiency and strengthen competitiveness.

She also highlighted how Lean principles are helping companies across Ireland achieve significant improvements in productivity, sales growth, quality and performance.

The keynote address was delivered by Barry Winkless, Head of the Future of Work Institute at Cpl Group, who spoke on the theme 'Collaboration is the Next Advantage'.

Barry explored how strategic collaboration and strong business networks are becoming increasingly important drivers of growth and success.

“Those who realise that collaboration, not just competition, is the key to sustainable success will thrive in the now and next of work,” said Barry.

A popular feature of the evening was the CWBN Member Spotlight Session, where eight network members showcased their businesses and shared their plans for future growth.

Presentations were delivered by Pauline Clarke (Mind Nua), Julie Garland (Décor Blinds Cavan), Una Hole (Carraig Gardens), Tetiana Hrytsyk (WorkLink Agency), Ernesta Novikova (Bailie Bookkeeper Limited), Marissa O'Keeffe (Golden Aura Healing), Samantha Rodgers (Hawthorn Lodge B&B Belturbet & Barkers of Boxhill Dog Grooming Emporium), and Anna Smith with Aileen Reilly (Farnham Financial Services Ltd). Their presentations highlighted the diversity, expertise and entrepreneurial spirit within the network.

The event was hosted by MC Margaret McKeon-Boyle of Extensive PR, who guided proceedings and ensured a lively and engaging programme throughout.

The evening concluded with a networking session over a light supper, providing members with valuable opportunities to build connections, exchange ideas and explore future collaborations.

Local Enterprise Office Cavan, through the Cavan Women in Business Network, continues to provide a supportive and collaborative platform for female entrepreneurs and business owners across the county, helping members connect, learn and grow their businesses together.
