Just days left to nominate local youth service for funding

The Monaghan and Cavan Youth Substance Support (MaCYSS) service is calling on the public for their nominations in a national Community Fund

THERE is just a couple of days left to nominate one of Cavan and Monaghan’s local youth services who have applied for a part of this year’s AIB Community €1m Fund.

Monaghan and Cavan Youth Substance Support (MaCYSS) is a youth (12-18 years) and family alcohol and other drug service providing comprehensive alcohol and drug services for local young people and their families.

Delivered by Alcohol Forum Ireland in partnership with HSE, TULSA, NE Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force, MaCYSS has been working with young people across Cavan and Monaghan since 2021 and is kindly funded and supported by HSE Social Inclusion.

MaCYSS can support, engage, and build capacity across Cavan and Monaghan to reduce and prevent alcohol and other drug harm among young people.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for small charities such as ours to secure additional funding for projects that support local young people,” Youth and Family Project Support Worker at MaCYSS, Ruth Redmond, explained, “We would be delighted to have the opportunity to benefit from this funding, which would enable us to expand our education, youth and family support programmes.”

The 2026 AIB Community €1 Million Fund is now open and nominations for 2026 close at 5pm this Friday, June 19.

Anyone, including AIB customers, employees, and the general public can nominate a registered charity.
