Safe Tractor training for young people in west Cavan

Some 300 young people in the west Cavan area will soon avail of Safe Tractor driving and safety awareness training.

A successful application was made for Safe Tractor training for those aged 14 years and above by Kieran McGovern from KMG Safety Training in Ballyconnell following this year's open call under the Proposals for Farm Safety, Health and Wellbeing Projects from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

Funded by the Department, each course will run for approximately six hours in groups of 12 and there will be 25 courses running in local secondary schools, starting in St Mogues College Bawnboy, throughout September and October. The training will also be given to groups of 12 on Kieran McGovern’s farm during the summer months.
