Appeal for information after petrol bomb attack in Co Down

Police have issued an appeal for information after reports of a petrol bomb attack on a house in Downpatrick.
Scorch damage was caused to the front of a house in the Pound Lane area following the incident in the early hours of Monday.
Three people were inside the property at the time but escaped injury.
A police spokesperson said they received a report at around 12.25am that two men, dressed in dark clothing, with hoods up and their faces covered, had thrown a lit item at a property in the Pound Lane area before making off towards John Street.
“Officers attended the scene, along with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, where the fire had already been extinguished by one of the occupants,” they said.
“Some damage was caused to the house, including scorch marks to the front of the property and the front door.
“Three people were in the property at the time. However, no injuries were reported.”
They added: “Anyone with information, including CCTV, ring-doorbell or other footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 24 of 22/06/26.”
