Which public restroom deserves the 2026 SuperLoo title?
Nominations are now open for the best public loo in Cavan and Monaghan.
Drainage experts Dino-Rod are urging owners of respectable restrooms in Cavan and Monaghan to enter them in the nationwide competition that will see one publicly-usable loo take the national title and assume the SuperLoo throne.
The company is asking people in Cavan and Monaghan to help them in their mission to seek out Ireland’s praiseworthy powderrooms by encouraging businesses of every size and shape to get involved in Ireland’s oldest restroom race.
The competition ran back in 1992 and was won by Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan. Now, over three decades later, SuperLoo returns to crown a new champion of Irish bathroom excellence.
This is not a competition for posh potties. It’s a celebration of WCs with character, charm, practicality and high standards. It’s about loos in every setting - from cafés, cinemas and clubs to garages, offices and libraries - that customers will remember for the right reasons.
Businesses can nominate their bathrooms at superloo.ie and these will be judged on the following criteria:
● Cleanliness
● Comfort
● Accessibility
● Style and character
● Smell and ventilation
● Hand drying facilities
● Hygiene products provided
● Ease of maintenance
● Cleaning standards
● Toilet paper ply level
● Toilet paper holder positioning
● Overall customer experience
Adjudicators will review every application and shortlist ten entries to face a public vote to decide the destination of the 2026 SuperLoo title. Closing date for applications is Friday 17th July 2026.
