Monaghan man ref gets nod for All Ireland final

Monaghan native Martin McNally is set to referee the All-Ireland Senior Championship final.

The GAA confirmed this morning that the Corduff man will be in charge when Kerry take on Mayo in Croke Park next weekend.

It is set to be McNally’s first time refereeing the inter-county decider, but earlier this year he took charge of the All-Ireland Senior Club final.

Previously, McNally has refereed the All-Ireland u20 final, and both the Leinster and Ulster finals.

According to the GAA, next weekend’s final will be the Corduff man’s 32nd senior inter-county game.

This season he has taken charge of Louth vs Wexford and Kildare vs Westmeath in the Leinster Championship.

He’s also refereed All-Ireland clashes including Armagh vs Derry, Dublin vs Donegal, and the All-Ireland quarter-final between Cork and Mayo.

McNally’s score umpires on the day will be Ben Woods, Niall Reilly, Mark Gilsenan, and Anthony Marron, all from the Corduff Club.
