Man arrested after car hits four people in Public Order incident

Follows disturbance involving a large gathering of a large group of youths.

A man in his 20s has been arrested following a public order incident in Skerries, north Dublin, on Saturday night in which a car struck several people, leaving four injured.

Gardaí were called to Harbour Road, Skerries, Co. Dublin, at approximately 9.45pm on Saturday, 18 July 2026, following reports of a disturbance involving a large gathering of a large group of youths.

During the course of the incident, an altercation broke out before a car struck a number of people.

Three people- two women and one man, all aged in their late teens- were taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment. Gardaí said their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

A fourth injured person, a man, was later reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested on Sunday, 19 July, as part of the Garda investigation. He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in north County Dublin.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly anxious to speak to anyone who was in the Harbour Road area at the time of the incident, including motorists who may have dash-cam footage.
