It is with regret that we report the following deaths in Counties Cavan and Monaghan, as recorded on RIP.ie within the past 24 hours.
Eileen Morgan
Bridge Street, Belturbet, Cavan
The death has occurred of Eileen Morgan, Bridge Street, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on 22 July 2026.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her son John, brother Eamonn, nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, relatives and friends.
May She Rest In Peace.
Remains will be reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Erne Hill, Belturbet (Eircode H14 R583) from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, 24 July.
Removal from her home on Saturday, 25 July to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet for 11am Funeral Mass.
Burial in Staghall Cemetery immediately afterwards.

Colin Patterson
Cloughla, Carrigallen, Leitrim / Cavan
The death has occurred of Colin Patterson Cloughla, Carrigallen, County Leitrim on Wednesday July 22nd peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his loving son Malcolm. Colin will be very sadly missed by his wife Maud, daughter Sharon, son-in-law Breen, brothers Vian (Sarah) Australia, Robert (Joan), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and all the family circle.
Colin will be resting in McMahon's Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan, tomorrow Thursday from 5pm until 8pm. A private cremation service will take place at a later stage.
Donations in lieu of flowers would be much appreciated by the family to North-west hospice Sligo c/o Funeral directors or any family member.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth Gilsenan (née Halpin), Aghalile, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Ardee, Co. Louth, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Wednesday 22nd July 2026.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Pat, children Brian (Orla), Céire (Haydn) and Eilís (Mark), adored grandchildren Ellarose, Lucia, Samuel, Joel, Tristan, Sadie, Mila and Lottie, her sister Catherine and brother Hugo, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
