Philip ( Phil) Smith

Philip (Phil) Smith, Legaweel, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, Tuesday 4th August 2026, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his devoted wife of 64 years, Pauline, in 2023, his parents Tommy and Rose and his sisters Mary Smith, Frances Strong, Rose Conlon, Bridie Brady and brother Brian.

Deeply regretted by his sisters in law Kathleen Smith, Mary Lydford and his brother in law Paddy Delaney. Fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Friday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Philip's remains will leave the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 10.15 a.m and will travel, via Legaweel, to St. Michael's Church, Potahee, arriving for a Funeral Mass at 11.00 a.m. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Michael Coghlan-Rogers

Cavan Town, Cavan / Kilmessan, Meath

The death has occurred of Michael Coghlan-Rogers, Cavan Town, Co. Cavan and formerly Kilmessan, Co. Meath, who died tragically on Sunday, 2nd August 2026, aged 31 years.

Michael was a loved and cherished son of Noirin and Alan. He will be very sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, his grandfather Christopher, his step family, his uncles Finbarr and Des, aunts Mary, Carol and Nollaig, his many loved cousins and extended family and a wide circle of good friends.

May his kind and gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at 1 Cois Glaisin Green, Johnstown, C15 F8EK on Thursday, 6th August, from 5pm to 8pm.

A Celebration of Michael's Life will take place on Friday, 7th August 2026, at 11am at Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium, Cavan, H12 RF78.

College Grove, Ennis, Co. Clare and formerly of Stradone, Co. Cavan.

Maura passed away on the 4th August 2026 at Milford Care Centre, Limerick, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her father Jimmy. Sadly missed by her loving son Lachlan, mother Anna, sister Catriona, brother Seamus, nephews, family and a wide circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Eileen Hyland (neé Landers), Sherbourne Road, Chelmsford, Essex. Who died on July 21st, 2026, peacefully at her home with Andrew her youngest son by her side.

Predeceased by her loving husband Francis (formerly of Lavey, Stradone, Co. Cavan).

Deeply regretted by her children Peter, Eamon (Julie), Andrew (Wanisa) and her brother Eamon. By her grandchildren Jessica, Carla, Benjiman, Oudi and Donny, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, great grandnieces and nephews, relatives in Cavan, Kerry and Armagh and many, many friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Peacefully at Monaghan Hospital on the 5th of August 2026 with his family by his side.

Predeceased by her loving husband Michael, son Owen, brother Sean, sisters Mary Mc Kenna & Margaret O’ Connor.

Teasie’s remains will leave her home in Brackagh on Saturday morning to arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Carrickroe for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
