Loraine O'Brien Iatridis

Late of Aegina, Greece, Virginia, Cavan / Glenageary, Dublin

Loraine passed away peacefully in Aegina on 15th July, 2026 following a long illness courageously borne. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Basil and son Andreas, her brothers Bryan and David, sister Cathy, step-daughter Eleni, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, niece and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral has taken place in Aegina.

Philip ( Phil) Smith

Legaweel, Ballinagh, Cavan

Philip (Phil) Smith, Legaweel, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, Tuesday 4th August 2026, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his devoted wife of 64 years, Pauline, in 2023, his parents Tommy and Rose and his sisters Mary Smith, Frances Strong, Rose Conlon, Bridie Brady and brother Brian.

Deeply regretted by his sisters in law Kathleen Smith, Mary Lydford and his brother in law Paddy Delaney. Fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Friday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Philip's remains will leave the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 10.15 a.m and will travel, via Legaweel, to St. Michael's Church, Potahee, arriving for a Funeral Mass at 11.00 a.m. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Paul Duffy

Coolarthra, Clontibret, Monaghan / Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Paul Duffy, Coolarthra, Clontibret, and formerly Muckno Street, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Wednesday 5th August, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Khalda and father Peadar.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by his son, Omar (Catherine), mother, Noelle, brothers Frances (Vivienne) and Simon (Yvonne), partner Sonia, nieces, Abaigh, Katie and Emma, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Paul will repose at Hughes Funeral Premises, Castleblayney, A75 KC66 on Friday from 3 pm until 7 pm, and privately among his family and friends at his mothers home in Muckno Street at all other times.

Removal on Saturday morning at 11:30 am arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for requiem mass at 12 noon, with burial afterward in the adjoining cemetery.
