Arva's Ciaran Brady speeds through a gap.

Arva see off Killygarry pulling up

Arva 0-22 Killygarry 2-14

Arva enhanced their credentials as genuine senior championship contenders on Sunday as they backed up their impressive midweek performance against Crosserlough with another eye-catching one, defeating Killygarry by two points.

The final margin did not quite reflect Arva’s superiority for much of the contest. Joe Cowley’s men led from pillar to post and held a commanding advantage entering the closing stages before Killygarry struck 1-2 in the final minutes to put a much tighter complexion on the scoreboard.

Tristan Noack-Hoffmann was outstanding for the winners, while Ciarán Brady and Jonathan McCabe were also influential and Dylan Maguire and Thomas Partington put in strong performances around the middle.

Killygarry, meanwhile, will rue a sluggish opening quarter which saw them fall six points behind. Damien Keaney’s side were chasing the game thereafter and, although their dangerous attack produced two excellent goals, Arva displayed an attacking ruthlessness which underlined their strong start to the championship.
