‘Nature After Dark’ bat walk

Belturbet will turn its attention to one of nature’s most intriguing night-time creatures on Sunday, August 23, with a special ‘Nature After Dark: Bat Walk & Talk’.

The Water Heritage Day event begins at 7pm at Belturbet Townhall, where an expert talk by Bat Conservation Ireland will introduce participants to the world of bats.

The presentation will be followed by an evening walk around Turbet Island, giving participants the chance to explore the area after dark and learn more about its nocturnal wildlife.

Visitors are advised to bring a small torch, warm clothing and sturdy shoes. Due to gravel paths, Turbet Island is not fully accessible for wheelchairs or heavy prams.

The event is free and no booking is required. Parking and refreshments will be available.
