Top marks at Our Lady's

Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney, is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied Class of 2026. The results reflect the dedication, resilience and determination shown by students throughout their senior cycle.

Principal Eddie Kelly commended the students on their success, stating: “We are immensely proud of every student in the outgoing sixth year group. These results are the reward for years of hard work, commitment and perseverance. Every student, regardless of their chosen pathway or ability, has every reason to be proud of what they have accomplished.”

Special recognition was given to Darragh Wynne, Matt McNally, Rachel Duffy and Bartek Garnisiewicz, who achieved the maximum 625 CAO points; while Amy Tyndall received a Distinction, the highest possible grade in the Leaving Certificate Applied programme.

The results mark another exceptional year for the school, with almost 15% of students achieving over 550 CAO points, 26 students securing more than 500 points, and the year group attaining an impressive average CAO score of 410 points.

Mr Kelly also acknowledged the contribution of staff, noting: “This success would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our teaching and support staff. Their professionalism, encouragement and genuine care for our students have helped each young person reach their full potential.”
