Permission sought to convert derelict properties into a gin distillery

AN Emyvale community group has applied for planning permission to convert two derelict properties in Mullan Village into a gin distillery.

Mullan Tidy Towns and Community Development is seeking permission to change the use of the two structures into a distillery, bar and function room.

The group also wants to develop co-working office space and community facilities in the two-storey buildings.

Their application also requires car parking and connection to the group sewage treatment system and signage at the new development.

A dozen houses for Monaghan

PLANS to build 12 new houses on the outskirts of Monaghan Town are currently before county planners.

Monaghan County Council requested further information on an application for planning permission from Hadabo Developments Ltd, which the firm submitted earlier this month.

Their plans include the demolition of an existing derelict house and garage at Killyconigan on the N54 main Clones Road just outside the county town, to make way for new housing development.

The properties vary in size and design and include a mix of two and three bed houses, some of which are three-storey.

Killyconigan near Rossmore Industrial Estate is close to amenities like a local soccer ground, Rossmore Forest Park and is about 1.5km from Monaghan Hospital.

County planners asked Hadabo Developments Ltd to provide significant further information on an amended site layout plan, landscaping plan, road safety audit report, and amended public lighting report.

The developers are also seeking planning permission for a new vehicular entrance onto an existing public access, together with a new footpath, connections to services, landscaping and boundary treatments.
