Almost 100 new homes planned for Cavan
Plans have been lodged for 97 new homes across two proposed residential developments close to Cavan Town.
Galetech Sustainable Living Ltd is seeking planning permission for 61 residential units at Latt; while Latt Properties Ltd plans a further 36 dwellings at Creighan.
The larger proposal at Latt comprises 49 houses, offering a mix of two- and three-bed accommodation of various types and designs.
Eight of the semi-detached houses and all four bungalows would have the option of attic conversions
A further 12 two-bedroom, own-door apartments would be provided in two two-storey blocks.
The development would also include new access roads, public amenity spaces, parking, landscaping, sustainable drainage and connections to public water and sewerage networks.
Plans also provide for localised widening of the footpath along Cathedral Road.
Meanwhile, Latt Properties Ltd intends to develop 36 homes at Creighan, comprising 10 two-storey, three-bedroom semi-detached houses and two two-bedroom semi-detached houses.
The remaining 24 units would offer one- and two-bedroom accommodation, including single-storey homes and apartments arranged across ground and first floors.
The Creighan scheme would also include a new junction with the Ballinagh Road (R935), a pumping station and associated infrastructure, connecting to existing services.
Both proposals remain subject to the planning process with planners in Cavan set to adjudicate in due course.
