Corlurgan NS D’Kube fundraiser smashes target

Corlurgan National School recently celebrated the culmination of many months of tireless fundraising by presenting ‘D'Kube’ on Saturday, October 24 in the Cavan Crystal Hotel.

The event was a wonderful night of fun and entertainment, and the school community exceeded its fundraising targets.

The funds raised will support the creation of a sensory room and a wellbeing walkway, as well as the refurbishment of older school spaces, so that all children feel safe, supported and valued.

The school teamed up with Crosserlough GAA, who ran the event and were very supportive and professional throughout the process.

The main sponsors; DB Construction, Lee's Gala Ballyhaise, Clarebawn Construction, Seamus Lee Ltd and the Cavan Crystal Hotel were key to ensuring the committee could undertake this massive fundraising event.

With great professionalism, MC Damien Donohoe ensured all contestants felt at ease throughout the games and brought their enthusiasm, sense of fun and good nature to the fore.

The school expressed sincere thanks to Damien too for his generosity as one of the game sponsors.

Conor Walker was the overall winner on the night, playing on behalf of Katríona McPhillips. Kaioni Tu'ipulotu took second place, Matthew Willis was third, Cian Keaney came in fourth and Katie Lynch was the top earner.

The audience were wholesome in their praise of this successful event, which reflected the strong spirit of community, connection and commitment shown by all.

The school also thanked the ‘D’Kube’ committee, led by Damien Keaney and fully supported by the Chairperson of the Board of Management, Clare Reilly, and the Principal of Corlurgan NS, Elizabeth Timmins - who delivered an excellent speech on the night.

Gratitude was also expressed towards the main sponsors, game sponsors and all other sponsors, the contestants, everyone who bought tickets, the Parents' Association, the ticket sellers and everyone who helped in any way.

“The contestants were extraordinary and really kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout,” said Principal Liz Timmins.

“The goodwill and generosity of all who helped, volunteered or donated is truly appreciated by the school community. The impact of this fundraiser will extend far beyond the event itself, supporting the wellbeing of children for many years to come. This is a legacy that all involved can be proud to share in.”
