Clodagh’s sister to release book
The sister of the late Clodagh Hawe (née Coll) and aunt to her three young boys - Liam (13), Niall (11)and Ryan (6) - is set to release a new book providing a heart-breaking account of her search for the truth behind the brutal killings that shocked a nation.
Jacqueline Connolly will launch 'Deadly Silence' – a sister's battle to uncover the truth behind the murder of Clodagh and her sons by Alan Hawe - next week. The book launch will take place in 'By The Book' in Virginia next Tuesday, May 6, from 6-8:30pm.
Published by Hachette Books, the gripping account of a family's painful struggle to expose critical failures and the darkness behind vice principal Hawe's 'pillar-of-the-community' facade, has been authored by Jacqueline with support from Kathryn Rogers.
Rogers has been writing professionally for decades, mostly as a full-time journalist and columnist but also as a successful ghostwriter.
The new book discloses circumstances leading up to the tragic events of August 2016, including Hawe's “manipulation and coercive control” of Jacqueline's unsuspecting sister. It further outlines the societal challenges to understanding domestic violence, as well as Jacqueline's own personal journey of healing from severe trauma and loss.
Alongside her mother Mary, Jacqueline has tirelessly campaigned for changes to succession laws as well as the need for a new and full inquiry into the Hawe murders.
