High steaks for local gastro pub

Plenty of local winners picked up prizes at the YesChef awards at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo.

A Cavan gastro pub has been been Highly Commended at the 2025 YesChef Awards, one of several local established to receive recognition for being some of the best place to eat in Ulster and Ireland.

The Castle Sports and Gastro Pub in Belturbet was picked out for its high standards in the Steakhouse of the Year category.

Murph's Gastro Pub in Butlersbridge were meanwhile Highly Commended in the Vegetarian Menu of the Year section.

There were plenty of other local winners too right across the board when the awards took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo on April 29.

Castle Leslie Estate was named as a Blue Ribbon 3 Star winner by YesChef, a food magazine for the hospitality industry. Snaffle's Restaurant at the Monaghan hotel won the Regional aware for Fine Dining, and Daragh Birrane Murray lifted the Young Chef of the Year award for Castle Leslie also, with Aaron Duffy collection the Chef of the Year award.

Fermanagh's Tully Mill Restaurant in Florencecourt came top in Ulster in the Local Restaurant of the Year category; and Raju Hassan of Cavan Town's Chilli Lounge picked up the Front of House Manager of the Year award.

This was the second year the popular local business was nominated.
