It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie.

Annie Kelly

(née Flynn)

Grange Boyne, Kilmessan, Meath / Cavan

The death has occurred of Annie Kelly (née Flynn), Grange Boyne, Kilmessan and formerly of Munterconnaught, Cavan. Peacefully in the Mater Hospital on Tuesday 20th May 2025 surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Ned, infant son Shane, her parents James & Margaret and brother John.

Annie will be greatly missed by her sons Jason and Gordon, daughter-in-law Sharmaine, Jason's partner Victoria and her adored grandsons Stephen and Michael. Her brother George and sister Bernadette, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, neighbours and friends.

May Annie Rest In Peace.

Annie will repose at her son Gordon's residence, C15 R5D7 from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday 22nd with funeral Mass on Friday 23rd at 2pm in Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Kilmessan. Leaving residence at 13:40 via Scurlogstown, Dublin Road. Burial afterward in the adjoining cemetery.

Pat (Patrick) Kilkenny

Aughavains, Loch Gowna, Cavan, H12RR92

Formerly of Cornea

Pat passed away after a long illness at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Eddie and Anna-Mae, and his sister Bríd.

Sadly missed by his devoted wife Brenda, children; Marc, Derek and John, daughters-in-law; Grace and Alex, grandchildren; Sasha, Luca, Evie and Max, brothers and sisters; Seamus (JP), Margaret, Eamon, Patricia, Sean, Aidan and Terry, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at his home (H12 RR92) on Thursday 22nd May from 4 pm until 8 pm sharp. Arriving at the Church of the Holy Family, Loch Gowna (H12FT54) on Friday 23rd May for Funeral Mass at 12 pm. Transfer afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78).

House Private Friday morning please.

Pauline Lynch

(née Butterfield)

Meadow Park, Cavan Town, Cavan / Summerhill, Meath

Pauline Lynch, née Butterfield, Meadow Park, Dublin Road, Cavan, Co. Cavan, formerly of Summer Hill, Co. Meath and London, Wednesday May 21st peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of College View Nursing Home. Pre-deceased by her husband Tony, daughter Karen, brother Billy and her grandchild Tom. Pauline will be sadly missed by her daughter Susanne, son Sean, brother Ken, sisters Kathleen, Maura, and Patricia. Grandchildren, David, Shane, Ryan, Luke, Lucia, great-grandchildren, Charlie, and Lexi, son-in-law Brian, daughter-in-law Clare, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives, and many friends.

Pauline lived in London for forty-two years and moved to Cavan in 2009. She spent her time volunteering with St Vincent’s in the charity shop in Cavan. Her biggest love of sport was Tennis. Requiem Mass on Friday 23rd in the Cathedral of Ss Patrick and Felim, at 11.00am followed by cremation at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan.

Patrick (Paddy) Connolly

Tallaght, Dublin / Monaghan

Connolly, Patrick (Paddy) (Tallaght and formerly of Derrygoony, Co. Monaghan) 19th May 2025, peacefully at Tallaght Hospital, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Patsy and loving dad to Angela and Annmarie. Paddy will be forever loved and always remembered by his family, sisters Maura, Ann, Alsie and Kitty, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law Garret and Chris, his much loved and cherished grandchildren Christian, Katie, Rían, Naoise and Ella, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and wonderful neighbours, and also his beloved walking buddy Snowy.

May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday (24th May) at 12 Noon in St Patrick’s Church, Bawn, Co. Monaghan, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Paddy's family would like to especially thank the Paramedic's and Tallaght Intensive Care Unit for their care to Paddy.

Frank Mc Kenna

Crossmaglen, Armagh / Inniskeen, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Frank McKenna.

Died peacefully on Wednesday, 21st May at Craigavon Area Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Frank, son of May and the late John McKenna Durmboat Inniskeen. Much loved partner of Bernie. Dear Dad of Eugene, Jodie and Lara, their partners Jamie and Jason, and their mum Ellie. Loving Granda of Tommy Frances and Maisie Grace. Brother of Packie, Tommy, Kieran, Oliver, Peter and Rosemarie. Frank will be sadly missed by his much loved mother, partner, son & daughters and their partners, grandchildren, brothers, sister, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and the McKenna, Collins and Walsh families, relatives and friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Frank will repose at Bernie’s home, 55 Carran Road, Crossmaglen, BT35 9JL from 3pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday. Removal on Saturday 24th May at 10.45am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Mullaghbawn for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

House strictly private on Wednesday evening and Saturday morning please.

(née Marron)

Killiney, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

Reilly (nee Marron) (Killiney, Co. Dublin, late of Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan) May 20th 2025. Peacefully at home. Bridget beloved wife of the late Tom, loving mother of Jeanmarie, Fearon and Anne. Sadly missed by her children, sons-in-law Joe and Conor, grandchildren Nathan, Deirdre, Brendan, Aislinn, Grace and Mathew, great grandchildren, brother Sean, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Also remembering her late sisters Mary and Anne, brothers Pat and Jim and her grandson David.

Removal Friday May 23rd to the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey arriving for 10am Funeral Mass which can be viewed online here followed by burial in Rathnew Cemetery, Co. Wicklow. No flowers please. Donations if desired to Blackrock Hospice.

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Reilly, 10 Beechgrove, Clones, Co. Monaghan (H23TY43), Wednesday 21st May 2025. Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his son Lawrence and his mother Mary

Beloved husband of Noreen and adored father of Damien (Joan), Aidan (Lynne), Caroline (Brian McCormick), Kevin (Pamela) and Chloe (Daniel). Jimmy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughters, sons and their partners, much loved grandchildren, Daniel (Claire), Ciara, Erin, Maddison, Megan, Caoimhe, Lorcan, Jamie, Zach, Amber, Amy, Kacie, Skye and Larry and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Fiadh and Orlaith, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved Jimmy.

Jimmy will repose at the family home, 10 Beechgrove, Clones, Co. Monaghan, (H23 TY43), on Thursday 22nd from 4pm to 8pm and Friday 23rd from 4pm to 8pm,(family time at all other times, including Saturday morning Please) with removal on Saturday afternoon at 12:30am to the Sacred Heart Church, Clones, for 1pm Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver's Cemetery, Clones.

Jimmy's Funeral cortège to the chapel will travel on foot via The Diamond and Fermanagh St.

Please note there will be parking available at Clones Credit Union carpark.
