Award winning doc set for Irish TV debut
Housewife of the Year by acclaimed Cavan-born filmmaker Ciaran Cassidy receives its Irish TV premiere on RTÉ One tonight, Monday, June 2, at 9:30pm.
‘Housewife of the Year’ tells the story of Ireland’s treatment of women through the prism of a unique, surreal, live televised competition — which really must be seen to be believed — where a generation of Irish women competed in front of a live audience for the title of Ireland’s ‘Housewife of the Year’.
Cavan Town native Ciarán has wowed critics and audiences alike with his previous films including ‘The Last Days of Peter Bergman’ and ‘Jihad Jane’ as well as achieving global success with his work on Second Captains’ podcasts ‘Where is George Gibney?’ and the hugely popular ‘Stakeknife’ on BBC Sounds.
