Hospital overcrowding: 400 people waiting for beds in Irish hospitals
The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation (INMO) show there is 400 people waiting for a bed in Irish hospitals.
240 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 160 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
The hospital with the highest number of people waiting for beds is University Hospital Limerick, with 76 people waiting for a bed.
23 people are in the emergency department, with 53 elsewhere in the hospital.
At University Hospital Galway, there is 48 people on trolleys, with 34 patients in the emergency room.
At Sligo University Hospital, there is 30 people on trolleys, with 18 people in the emergency department.
