Ford’s Power Promise
Ford has launched its Ford Power Promise in Ireland, a package designed to simplify the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) for new buyers, particularly those registering their new ‘252’ models. The initiative is aimed at addressing common concerns among potential EV buyers and easing the switch to electric mobility.
Autoparc in Cavan is celebrating with a Go Electric Event for motorists and potential customers. With the Ford Puma Gen-E, Capri and Explorer among the front runners with the local dealerships, savings of up to €3,000 are available to those ordering their new ‘252’ by June 30. Ford’s electric range, meanwhile, starts at €149 per month with Ford Options.
The Ford Power Promise, meanwhile, includes a suite of incentives and services. Key among them is a home electric car charger, provided through ChargeGuru, which is available for a nominal €10 fee (assuming eligibility for the SEAI Home Charger Grant). Customers can choose between Sync Energy or Hypervolt chargers, which are valued at €1,299. Once ordered through a Ford dealership, ChargeGuru aims to manage installation within two to four weeks.
Additional benefits include an eight-year or 160,000km warranty on the high-voltage battery and components, a five-year free service plan to help reduce maintenance costs, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance.
Cost of charging
Ford highlights the affordability of EV ownership with examples such as charging a new Puma Gen-E car overnight on the EV Smart Drive at a cost of approximately €12.26, compared to spending €58 to €70 on petrol.
A recent Ford survey of 5,000 drivers across Europe revealed that a significant number of consumers still feel uncertain about electric vehicles. Around one in four reported increased confusion when considering an EV; one in eight found home charging arrangements difficult; a third believed charging times were too long and almost one in three respondants were concerned about battery longevity.
Ford Power Promise seeks to directly respond to these apprehensions by offering an all-in-one solution to ease EV adoption.
Lisa Brankin, chair and Managing Director of Ford of Britain and Ireland, emphasised that the initiative aims to reduce anxiety for new EV buyers. She described Ford’s approach as a “one-of-a-kind promise” to simplify and de-stress the ownership experience, while boosting interest in its growing EV range.
The Power Promise applies to all-electric Ford passenger models available in Ireland, including the new Explorer, Capri, Puma Gen-E, Mustang Mach-E, E-Tourneo Custom, E-Transit, Transit Custom PHEV, Transit Connect PHEV, and Ranger PHEV. For customers who prefer not to install a home charger, a €500 cash alternative is available.
For business customers, the offer extends to include 12 months of vehicle management software, further service and warranty support, and dedicated customer assistance.
