Kerry advanced to the last-eight with a 3-20 to 1-17 victory against Cavan in Killarney where David Clifford scored three goals.

Cork have secured a place in the last-eight of the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship.

Katie Quirke hit the net in either half as they defeated Mayo by 3-8 to 1-10.

Kildare edged out Ulster champions Armagh by 1-12 to 1-10 to advance to the knock-out stages.

A strong second-half performance from Waterford saw them defeat Leitrim by 6-16 to 3-4.

While Tipperary enjoyed an 11-points to 1-6 win against Donegal.

Hurling

The semi-final lineup is complete in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.

Tipperary have set up a last-four clash with their rivals Kilkenny with a 1-28 to 2-17 win against Galway at the Gaelic Grounds.

Oisin O'Donoghue scored the Premier County's goal in the 58th minute as Liam Cahill's team advanced to the semis for the first time since 2019.

Earlier, Dublin stunned Limerick with a 2-24 to 28-points victory in the other quarter-final to set up a clash with Munster champions Cork.

Soccer

Athlone Town have returned to the summit of the Women's National League.

Kelly Brady scored twice as Colin Fortune's team overcame Peamount 3-nil tonight.

A hat-trick from Kate Mooney helped second-place Shelbourne defeat Sligo Rovers 3-1.

Wexford beat DLR Waves 4-1, while Shamrock Rovers enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Cork City.

Galway thrashed Waterford 7-nil and Treaty were 2-1 winners against Bohemians.

Rugby

Andy Farrell says the lack of preparation time can't be used an excuse for the Lions' poor performance last night.

His side suffered an opening 4 point loss to Argentina in Dublin as they prepare to head Down Under.

The game was characterised by a number of handling errors and slipped tackles from the nominal home side last night.

Head coach Farrell says opening day jitters can't take all the blame for the mistakes:

Next up for the British and Irish composite side is a game against the Western Force on Saturday.

Golf

A double-bogey at the 12th has hurt Rory McIlroy's chances at golf's Travelers Championship.

The Masters champion is eight-under-par with two holes of his third-round to play.

Tommy Fleetwood holds a one-stroke lead out on course at 13-under-par.

Leona Maguire is eight shots off the lead at the women's PGA Championship in Texas.

The Cavan woman is three-over par playing the 16th in Texas.
