Two arrested over Omagh shooting of PSNI officer

Two men from Co. Tyrone and west Belfast have been arrested

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in Omagh in February 2023 have made two arrests.

Two men – one aged 45 arrested in the Stewartstown area and a man aged 25 arrested in west Belfast – were detained under the Terrorism Act earlier today, Monday, August 11. They have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

A property in west Belfast was searched and a vehicle seized.
