Galetech wins O&M contracts for three utility scale wind farms
Galetech Operations has secured new contracts for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of three major wind farms in the UK and Ireland.
In Ireland, the company has signed a full-scope O&M contract with Statkraft for its Milane Hill wind farm in Cork and its Beenageeha wind farm in Kerry.
Under the terms of the contract, Galetech Operations’ subsidiary Optinergy will provide 24/7 remote monitoring, rapid-response field service and data-driven performance optimisation to 15 Vestas V47 turbines located across both wind farms, which generate a combined 10 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy that can power almost 10,000 homes.
In the UK market, Galetech Operations’ Northampton-based subsidiary Adamas Wind has been awarded a full-scope O&M contract by Eurowind Energy for its 8 turbine, 16 MW Howpark wind farm in the Scottish border.
The contract will see Adamas Wind provide 24/7 remote monitoring and call‑out support to the Howpark wind farm, as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, blade inspection services, and spare-parts management.
The contract with Eurowind Energy to manage its Howpark wind farm is the first full-scope O&M contract secured by Adamas Wind since it joined the Galetech Operations platform, marking an important milestone in the company’s UK growth strategy. As part of the contract, Galetech Operations’ subsidiary Adamas Wind will establish a new service base in Scotland, creating skilled jobs for people in the region.
Rob Payne, Commercial Director of Galetech Group, said: “These contract awards demonstrate the strength of our integrated O&M offering in Galetech Operations and the confidence which leading asset owners have in our team. Since launching Galetech Operations in 2024—bringing six specialist business units together under one banner—we have set out to deliver safe, reliable and innovative O&M solutions that maximise asset value for our customers.
“Securing Statkraft’s Irish sites and Eurowind Energy’s Howpark Wind Farm is a significant step forward in that journey, and we look forward to building long‑term partnerships with both clients.”
Clare Walters, County Manager, Eurowind Energy added: “We’re pleased to partner with Adamas Wind as the full-scope O&M provider for Howpark Wind Farm. Their team’s extensive experience in wind farm operations gives us confidence in the long-term performance and reliability of the site.
“This collaboration not only supports our operational goals but also aligns with our commitment to investing in local expertise and creating value in the region. We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship.”
