Cnoc Mhuire welcomes a new principal
A new principal will oversee the continued academic success at Cnoc Mhuire, Granard starting this school semester.
As of September 1, Ms Jennifer McCabe will take over the reins at the Granard secondary school.
Ms McCabe first joined the teaching staff of Cnoc Mhuire in 2017 having previously worked as an English and Geography teacher in St Raphaela’s, Stillorgan, Co Dublin for nine years.
She also has experience working with the SEC, NIPT and the PDST, further broadening and enriching her professional experience. She holds a Bachelors degree, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a Master of Education.
Now back living in Killoe, Ms McCabe brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
She has served as AP1 Programmes Coordinator for the past five years and previously held the role of Digital Coordinator, as well as being a positive and enthusiastic role model for her students and prides herself on helping them to develop both academically and personally.
As she embarks upon her new position, Ms McCabe paid tribute to the recently retired principal, Pauline McBrien, to thank her for her service over the past eight years.
“I would like to sincerely thank Ms McBrien for her dedication to Cnoc Mhuire and I hope to continue her good work in the years ahead.
“I am honoured to lead a CEIST school and to continue the proud legacy of the Mercy Sisters.
“Personally, it is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and talented team here at Cnoc Mhuire. Guided by our CEIST ethos, we aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where students mature, build confidence, and show respect for others.”
She said the entire staff at the school encourages students to reach their academic potential, use their talents to benefit others, and to engage fully in the life of the school academically, spiritually, and socially.
“I am looking forward to the road ahead, particularly in guiding the school’s extension in partnership with the DES.”
The Board of Management wishes Ms McCabe every success in her new role.
