Bon Secours Clinic Cavan – expert care in the community
Since opening in 2016 in Cavan Town, Bon Secours Clinic Cavan has become an integral part of the region’s healthcare landscape. The clinic offers residents of Cavan, Monaghan, and surrounding areas access to some of the country’s leading medical and surgical consultants right in their community.
Earlier this year, the clinic made a major advancement in its commitment to specialist healthcare when it relocated from its original site on Farnham Road to a larger facility on the Drumalee Health Campus, located next to the HSE Primary Care Centre on Cootehill Road. Since it began operations, the clinic has welcomed over 10,000 patients through its doors and the new location will support continued growth in patient numbers and expand the range of specialties and clinic offerings available in the community.
The new Drumalee Clinic was designed with patient comfort and convenience in mind. The modern space features three consulting rooms and two diagnostic rooms, a welcoming reception and waiting area. There is also plenty of free parking available on-site for patients.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated administration team, led by Sarah McGlade, who has been with the clinic since it opened, ensure everything runs smoothly and there is a warm welcome for all patients.
Patients are referred to the clinic by their GP and, once the referral is received, patients are contacted by Sarah and the on-site team to confirm the next available appointment.
Specialties
Patients have access to seven different specialties: Cardiology, gastroenterology, general and colorectal surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, urology, and vascular surgery. Plans are in place to introduce more specialties in the coming months, with new consultants set to join the existing team of 13 who currently see patients in the clinic.
On-site diagnostic testing is also available, including cardiology diagnostics such as echocardiograms, ECGs, Holter monitors, and blood pressure assessments, as well as vascular scanning. This allows patients to receive the necessary tests and evaluations quickly, without the need to travel to Dublin or other locations for these essential tests.
Bon Secours Clinic Cavan is part of Ireland’s largest independent hospital group, Bon Secours Health System, and operates under the umbrella of Bon Secours Hospital Dublin. This connection provides access to an additional 230 consultants across 34 specialties, as well as timely access to advanced diagnostic tools and operating facilities, giving more options for care.
