Top job for Gyproc sales chief
Dean O’Sullivan has been named CEO of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, succeeding Mike Chaldecott, who retires after 42 years with the company.
O’Sullivan’s appointment comes alongside the launch of Lead & Grow, a new five-year strategy positioning the multinational as a solutions-focused leader across the residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
With 25 years in the construction industry, O’Sullivan joined Saint-Gobain in 2007 initially as a sales manager at Gyproc Ireland; later becoming sales and marketing director for both Gyproc and Isover Ireland. He went on to lead UK operations at Okarno (formerly Artex) and Saint-Gobain’s insulation business, before becoming managing director of the UK interior solutions division in 2021. There, he oversaw brands such as British Gypsum and Isover, driving innovation in support for housing, retrofit, and infrastructure projects.
O’Sullivan said: “It’s a great privilege to lead Saint-Gobain at a time when we’re unveiling a strategy that positions us as a true solutions provider. We have a strong vision to be a catalyst for change as the construction sector tackles challenges like climate change and growing demand.”
The leadership change follows a strong first half of 2025, with Saint-Gobain reporting €23.9B in sales and €2.8B in operating income, supported by solid UK performance.
