Risk of thundery downpours and spot flooding
Sunday begins on a wet and unsettled note, with heavy and persistent rain likely across the region during the morning.
There’s a continued risk of thundery downpours and localised spot flooding, particularly in the early part of the day.
However, an improving trend is expected as the rain clears northeastwards, making way for brighter conditions with some sunshine and scattered showers by the afternoon.
Some of these showers may be heavy, but the overall trend is toward a drier, more settled second half to the day.
Winds will be fresh to strong and gusty from the southeast initially, but will ease and veer to a moderate southwesterly flow behind the rain. Temperatures will be slightly warmer than Saturday, with highs of 14 to 17 degrees Celsius.
