Council regrets N3 traffic delays amid maintenance work
Cavan County Council says it regrets the delays caused to motorists by ongoing but vital maintenance works on the N3 Cavan Bypass and it's slip roads.
The Council acknowledged the disruption but stress that the works are essential to maintaining the safety and integrity of this critical route.
Roadworks on the N3 in Cavan on October 13, involve emergency closures of N3 slip roads from October 13 to October 24.
According to the Council, the project involves vital upgrades and repairs that cannot be postponed, and while efforts are being made to minimise the impact on traffic, the high volume of vehicles using the N3 means that delays are, unfortunately, unavoidable at times.
“The contractor is working hard to manage traffic as efficiently and safely as possible,” a spokesperson said. “However, we understand the frustration these delays are causing and sincerely regret the inconvenience to road users.”
Cavan County Council is urging drivers to plan extra time for their journeys and to follow all temporary traffic management signs in place for their safety and that of the road workers.
The Council has thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the works, and reiterated that the long-term benefits of the maintenance will significantly improve road conditions and safety once completed.
