Bit garda on the hand, drew blood

A man who bit a member of An Garda Síochána on the hand, drawing blood, has been remanded in custody and will appear via video-link at a sitting of Cavan District Court later this week.

The male, aged in his 30s, was remanded in custody by Judge Eirinn McKiernan from a special court, which sat on Sunday afternoon.

He is charged with alleged assault in connection with the biting incident, and also with public order offences, which occurred respectively at Cavan Garda Station and Main Street, Cavan Town, on Saturday night last, November 22.
