Hazel’s blooming beautiful creations
It’s that time of year again when Hazel Lowry of Hilltop Flowers is working with Christmas roses and cactii, spruce, amaryllis, skimmia, and more.
Orders for the festive period are already flowing in and, when the Celt called, Hazel was working on one of her Christmas hat boxes. It’s a fabulous cylindrical box with snowmen, santas and Christmas trees all around, before Hazel comes and decorates it with deep red and vibrant green colours, with a few pops of purple and orange too. In just a few minutes, she twists and tweaks until a beautiful Christmas hat box sits before us. They make an ideal gift for somebody who loves flowers with low maintenance and it can sit anywhere in the home or business.
Meanwhile, Hazel continues to make bouquets, festive wreaths for graves or doors, breathtaking table centres; while she also has a selection of Christmas decorations and potted plants too.
Remembering loved ones
Hazel knows that Christmas is a time of remembrance and she is now taking orders for fresh flower grave wreaths, meanwhile she also has a selection of long-lasting, artificial flowers, and grave plaques, which can be personalised with your own message.
While there usually is a selection of fresh flower creations “ready to go” at Hilltop Flowers, Hazel encourages people to come in and order their pieces this Christmas.
This year, Hazel advises people to make their Christmas orders on or before December 15 to avoid disappointment, as it will be a busy time for the Ballinagh flower shop.
“People are early this year,” Hazel observes.
Hilltop Flowers also does flower arrangements for bereavements, birthdays, weddings and other family occasions. Hazel will close on December 23 this year and she would like to “thank most sincerely” all of her customers for their support in 2025, and she looks forward to working with them again in the New Year.
