Anthony (Tony) Brady

Mountain Lodge, Cootehill, Cavan

The death has occurred of Anthony (Tony) Brady Carrickacromin, Mountain Lodge, Cootehill,Co.Cavan. Died Tuesday 20th January 2026, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his nephew and nieces.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Katie Brady and his recently deceased sister Bridget Smith.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by his family, nephew Noel (Sophia), nieces Carmel (Terence), Majella (Andy), Mairéad (Ciarán) Collette (Larry), grand nephews, grand nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours.

May his gentle soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Reposing at his late sister Bridget Smith's family home Canningstown (H16WC78) on Thursday 22nd January, from 5pm-8pm. Removal on Friday Morning 23rd January arriving at St. Patrick's Church, Carrickallen, Mountain Lodge (H16EV96) for 12 noon Funeral Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Teresa Lieghio

(née Cirefice)

Navan, Meath / Belfast, Antrim / Belturbet, Cavan

The death has occurred of Teresa Lieghio (née Cirefice) aged 94, late of the Valley Café, Watergate Street, Navan, Co. Meath and formerly of Erne Restaurant, Belturbet, Co. Cavan and Roden Inn, Roden Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim, peacefully at home in Casalattico, Italy, Monday 19th January 2026. Predeceased by her husband Benedetto Lieghio, her brother Francesco Cirefice, sister-in-law Concetta Lieghio and twin infant sister Gina.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her children; Gelsomina (John McNeill), Orazio, Giovanni and Francesca (Orazio Forte); sons-in-law and daughter-in-law. Beloved granny to her 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, the Farrell family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home in Casalattico, Italy. Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 10am (Irish Time) in the Church of San Barbato, Casalattico, Italy.

Jackie Reilly

Jackie Reilly, The Sullivan Centre, Cavan & formerly Creeny, Belturbet, Co. Cavan

January 20th 2026 peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy & Bridget, brother Val, sisters Imelda & Peggy.

Sadly missed and deeply regretted by his loving sister Roseleen (Mc Guire), brother-in-law Gerard, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lawlor's Funeral Home, Erne Hill, Belturbet (H14 R583) on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Requiem mass on Thursday at 12 noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet followed by burial in Staghall cemetery.

Jackie's family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at the Sullivan centre who took such great care of Jackie over the last five years.

Edgar (Fred) Eakin

Sreenty, Corduff, Carrickmacross, Monaghan, A81 TX24

Peacefully on Monday, 19th January 2026 at his home. In his 100th year.

Pre-deceased by his beloved daughter Laraine.

Fred will be dearly missed by his devoted and loving wife Jean, daughter Irene, son Edgar, daughter-in-law Carol. Also by Kyle, Jamie, Jeffrey, Jessica, Saphran, Sorrel, his nieces, nephews and the family circle.

Funeral service in Corvally Presbyterian Church, eircode A81 FY50, on Thursday, 22nd January at 1pm. Interment afterwards in Carrickmaclim Burial Grounds

Winnie ( Winifred ) Smith

(née Duffy)

Portmarnock, Dublin / Magheracloone, Monaghan

Smith, Winnie (Winifred) (née Duffy) - 19th January 2026, (Portmarnock and formerly of Magheracloone, Co Monaghan) Peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at Beaumont Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Jim and loving Mam to John. Winnie will be very sadly missed by her son, daughter-in-law Breda, adored grandchildren Marc and Mia, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road Portmarnock on Thursday afternoon 22nd January from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Friday morning to the Church of St Anne, Portmarnock arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery Sutton.

The Funeral Mass will be streamed live here on Friday morning 23rd January at 10am.
