Shercock road re-opened this morning

The R192 Shercock to Cootehill road has reopened following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry yesterday morning.

The driver of the car, a male in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. The lorry driver, a male in his 60s, was taken to hospital for assessment.

Gardaí are continuing their appeal for witnesses following the incident.

"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to Gardaí," a spokesperson stated.
