Castleblayney motorist seen driving in 'dangerous manner' before crash

Gardaí on patrol in Castleblayney yesterday afternoon observed a car being driven in a dangerous manner.

The vehicle later collided with another car at Maghernakill at around 4:55pm.

"The driver and passenger of one of the cars was brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, as a precaution," a garda spokesperson stated.

Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle received medical treatment at the scene.

"No other injuries reported at this time.

"Investigation ongoing," the spokesperson confirmed.

The Castleblayney to Dundalk Road was closed yesterday evening and has since been reopened.
