It is with regret that we report the following deaths in Counties Cavan and Monaghan, as recorded on RIP.ie within the past 24 hours.

Patrick Sorohan

Moynehall, Cavan

The death has taken place of Patrick Sorohan, Moynehall, Cavan. Sunday the 15th of February 2026, peacefully in the loving care of his family and staff at Cavan General Hospital. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Nancy, sister, Sister Mary Norbert. Sadly missed by his loving family, sons Martin (Mary), Gerry, Pat (Sharon), brothers, sisters, grandchildren Shandra, Amy, Sophie, Ryan and Ben, great-grandsons Danny and Billy, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many, many friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan, (H12 C821) on Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral mass on Tuesday at 12 noon in the Cathedral of Ss. Patrick and Felim, Cavan, followed by burial in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Heart Foundation via donation box in funeral home.

Margaret Moore

(née Reynolds)

Clonboy, Clones, Monaghan, H23 D625 / Longford

The death has occurred of Margaret Moore née Reynolds, Clonboy, Clones, Co. Monaghan and formerly from Longford, Sunday 15th February, 2026, peacefully, in Drumbear Nursing Home, Monaghan, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Michael and her younger brother Michael Reynolds.

Cherished and much loved mother of Noble (Lizzi), Garrett (Michelle), Bob (JoJo). Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sons, daughters-in-law, adored grandchildren, Joseph, Marie, Aoife, Daniel, Áine, Louise, Cora and Finn, her sister Kathleen (John-Joe Reilly, Granard) and her brother Mark (Marcella, Redhills), her cousin Maureen, sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbours and by all who knew and loved Margaret.

May Margaret's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Margaret will be resting at the family home, Clonboy, Clones, H23 D625, from 4pm on Tuesday 17th until removal on Thursday 19th at 10.40am to the Sacred Heart Church, Clones for 11am Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery.
