Man arrested as €125K worth of cannabis seized

Herbal cannabis with a street value worth approximately €125,000 has been seized today.

The drugs, weighing some 6.25kg, were found as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Cavan Drugs Unit and the Revenue Customs Service .

A man (aged in his 30s), was arrested and is being detained in a station in the Garda North Western Region under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.
