Dromard Camino for Assisted Pilgrims

The Dromard Camino walk is taking place on Saturday, April 11, to raise funds for the Ardagh & Clonmacnois Lourdes Assisted Pilgrim Fund.

In recent years, the diocese has struggled to raise sufficient funds to bring sick pilgrims and cover support staff costs. Last year, the diocese did not have enough funds to bring people.

This year, they are bringing 37 pilgrims to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The diocese is hopeful that people will turn out in large numbers to support a worthy cause while enjoying a walk in the picturesque countryside of North Longford, just outside of Arva and Gowna.

Organised by Fr P.J. Hughes and the parish of Dromard, supported by the GAA Club and the parish council, the camino will be starting at 8am from Dromard GAA Club, and participants can opt for a 10km or 20km route.

Participation costs €50 per person or €100 for a group of three.

Booking in advance is advised by visiting www.dromardcaminowalk.ie so organisers can be as prepared as possible. Alternatively, you can also book your place on the day.
