March from Cavan town centre to Dublin Road roundabout

Fuel price protestors are currently marching from Cavan Town centre to the Dublin Road roundabout.

Led by a few tractors, people are marching on foot and are just passing the Tractamotors junction.

Some of them, who were involved in an earlier blockade at the Dublin Road roundabout, decided on the march as the next wave of the campaign.

They are unhappy with measures announced by Government yesterday to extend excise relief on fuel to the end of July. They say they do not go far enough to address the crisis being experienced by ordinary people, farmers, contractors and hauliers.

The earlier blockade was lifted just after lunchtime.
