As 2026 gathers pace, Erne Motor Works, Toyota Cavan, has firmly positioned itself at the forefront of Cavan’s automotive landscape. With a reputation built on reliability, customer trust, and the strength of the Toyota brand, the dealership has entered the new year as Cavan’s leading car brand.
Erne Motor Works closed out 2025 as Cavan’s most loved car brand with a market share of just over 22%, according to official figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI). That means that more than one in five motorists in Cavan purchasing a new car, opted for a Toyota model.
Celebrations at the Cavan Town dealership are continuing, meanwhile, as Erne Motor Works finished out the first quarter of 2026 in pole position again with an increased market share of 24.4% - or nearly one in four motorists!
Petrol hybrid is the leading engine choice among motorists in Cavan. Petrol hybrid and petrol plug-in hybrids currently represent a 42.6% market share in County Cavan; whilst sales of fully electric passenger cars have more than doubled compared to the same period last year.

“It is great to see four of our petrol hybrid models in the top 10 best-selling cars in Cavan, including the Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, C-HR and Corolla.
“While hybrids still account for most of the our new car sales, over the last year or so there is definitely more interest in plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles, a trend we expect to continue given the current uncertainty in the market with regards to fuel prices and oil.”

Erne Motor Works’ Approved Used Car Sales Event kicks off from today (Wednesday), April 15, and runs until Saturday, April 25.
