Founded in 1987 by Tommy and Kay O’Harte, Harte Peat began with a mission to supply high-quality casing soil to the mushroom industry. Today, it remains a family-run business, led by managing director Aidan O’Harte. “Our commitment extends beyond maintaining a strong and stable business. We continuously seek innovative, cost-effective solutions to enhance mushroom cultivation,” Aidan says, which includes advancements in engineering, transport, and product development. “As part of our ongoing innovation, we are actively researching and developing peat-free mushroom casing alternatives to support sustainable growing practices.”
