The US pop star – known for chart-topping hits including Like A Prayer and Vogue – said her new record, Confessions II, will be out on July 3rd.
It will be her 15th studio album, and will serve as a follow-up to the Grammy-winning 2005 album, known for its nightclub music and hits such as Sorry and Hung Up.
The 67-year-old singer posted the album cover on Instagram on Wednesday, which sees her sitting on a platform wearing a lacy lilac outfit, with a sheer pink cloth draped over her figure.
She told her 20.3 million fans: “Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II – July 3 2026.”
The post was flooded with comments of support and excitement from fans and fellow stars including singers Doechii, Jade Thirlwall and Romy.
The chart-topping popstar, born Madonna Ciccone, also released a sneak peek at the long-awaited record in a 60-second video on YouTube.
The song in the teaser is reminiscent of the dance music that Madonna has often visited throughout her career, which Confessions On A Dance Floor was renowned for.
Over the pulsing, synthesised instrumental, Madonna says: “Thanks for coming. Sometimes, I like to just hide in the shadows, create a new persona, a different identity.
“I can be whoever I want to be, create a new persona. Honestly I wish I could be like other people and just not care, but out here on the dancefloor I feel so free.”
Madonna’s upcoming record marks her first studio album in almost seven years, since the release of Madame X in 2019.
The original Confessions On A Dancefloor is considered to be one of her best albums, along with Like A Prayer and Ray Of Light.
The veteran pop star launched her career in the 1980s and has since achieved global success, having had 13 UK number one singles and 12 number one albums.
Madonna has also won many accolades throughout her decades-long career, including seven Grammys and two Brit awards.
