Jordan and Cian Adams, the FTD brothers are running the 32 counties of Ireland in 32 days to raise awareness of and funds for dementia research.

Brothers Jordan and Cian race against dementia

Visiting Monaghan tomorrow and Cavan on Wednesday

Social media sensations, the FTD Brothers, are set to come to the region in the coming days, as part of a gruelling challenge.

Jordan and Cian Adams, better known to their millions of social media followers as the FTD Brothers will be in Monaghan tomorrow, Friday, May 1 and in Cavan on Wednesday, May 6 as part of their 32 marathons in 32 days challenge.

The brothers came to prominence for their pioneering work in raising awareness of dementia through their feats of athleticism. Across the platforms of Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, they have amassed a following of over 335,000.

Ireland is close to their hearts because their mother Geraldine was Irish. In June 2010 she was diagnosed with early onset Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). This is a hereditary condition which Jordan and Cian are likely to develop, as it has been very prevalent in their family for generations. Geraldine, their mother passed away in March 2016 aged 52.

Both Jordan and Cian inherited a mutation in the MAPT gene, which means they are both likely to become symptomatic in their 40s, with a life expectancy of about 10 years after that. Jordan and Cian are doing all they can to raise awareness and funds through running and they have raised £712,084 on their GoFundMe page to date.

The FTD Brothers Foundation’s ambition is to raise awareness and £1million through fundraising for vital dementia research, education, advocacy for early diagnosis and better support. They also support existing dementia charities.
