Castleblayney on CCTV
“Castleblayney has had a CCTV system since its Town Council days,” Cllr Aidan Campbell stated at Monday’s meeting of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney Municipal District (MD). The Fine Gael elected representative was seeking clarification on the status of the scheme, which was awaiting the go-ahead from An Garda Síochána’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Joe Glackin.
“The CCTV application was always about ratifying Castleblayney. It was stalled because of a security issue with the cabinet at Lough Muckno. That issue is now resolved and the Crime Prevention Officer is happy for the scheme to proceed,” Damien Thornton, district co-ordinator responded.
When asked for a timeline by Cllr Campbell, Mr Thornton added: “The scheme is approved and after the meeting I will try and get a confirmed date and issue it to you. Castleblayney CCTV scheme is up and running.”
